Michael Sherman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer
Michael Sherman is CEO and CTO of AES Corporation which he founded in 1974. He oversees the Company’s corporate direction and all engineering projects. Mr. Sherman is a security industry veteran and expert on communications hardware and software development including wireless applications for commercial, government, and military applications. Under his leadership for the past four decades, AES Corporation has grown from a contract engineering firm to a leader in the design and development of wireless mesh radio technology today. Mr. Sherman holds a BS degree from Northeastern University and an MBA degree from Babson College.
Gary Shottes, President
Gary Shottes is the President of AES Corporation providing strategic leadership and managing all operations of the Company. He is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, mission, strategy and integrated business plans to advance the Company’s goals and objectives while promoting customer loyalty, quality, growth and efficiency. Mr. Shottes is a transformational business, sales and marketing executive with over 30 years of experience leading global technology organizations through high growth cycles. Prior to joining the AES management team, he held executive and leadership roles in companies that delivered customer-centric solutions which included hardware, software and services. Mr. Shottes holds a BS in Business Administration from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
David Kaplan, Chief Financial Officer
Serving as CFO since 2011, David Kaplan’s role encompasses Company-wide responsibility for all financial planning, controls accounting, legal issues, human resources, and office administration. He brings over 30 years of financial management experience and a wealth of knowledge in global business services, e-business software solutions, communications, manufacturing/distribution, and consulting in the communications hardware and software development industry. Prior to joining the AES Executive Team, his career included leadership roles as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial & Legal Officer for organizations in diverse industries such as management consulting, computer software, medical devices, and accounting services. Mr. Kaplan earned a BS in Accounting and a JD from Boston College Law School.
Owais Hassan, Vice President of Engineering
In his new role as VP of Engineering, Owais Hassan will lead and manage the design of product enhancements as well as new product planning and development efforts. He is an experienced hands-on senior level executive and entrepreneur with a strong technical and leadership background. His areas of expertise include strategic product development from conceptual stages to high volume manufacturing and in depth knowledge of relevant and new emerging markets. Mr. Hassan has been a major contributor to the success of many communication and information system companies, specializing in wireless and secure networks technology for the security industry. He holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University.
Tom Kenty, Vice President & General Manager of The Americas
Tom Kenty is the VP & GM of The Americas region. He has responsibility for leading the US & Canada, Central America, and South America sales team. Tom oversees all facets of sales activities including promotions and programs, corporate marketing, management of revenue and operating expenses. Prior to joining the organization in 1999, he was a Regional Sales Manager for an alarm systems manufacturer where he was responsible for sales and business development for the New England, New York and Eastern Canada territories. Previously, he was Director of Sales for a perimeter security products manufacturer where he was in charge of sales, marketing and business development throughout the United States. Mr. Kenty attended Syracuse University.
John Milliron, Vice President of Sales for North America
John Milliron is VP of Sales for the North America region. Based out of the Philadelphia satellite office, he is responsible for directing the expansion of existing accounts and new business opportunities in the US & Canada security market. John is involved with business planning, sales management and strategic alliances in his newly expanded role within the AES-IntelliNet business unit. He has been a key member of the AES management team since 2001 and has worked in engineering and sales for the electronic security industry since the late 1980′s. Before joining AES Corporation, he worked at the Regional Vice President and Regional Sales Manager level providing product sales, training, dealer development, and support for a manufacturer of professional fire and burglary alarms in addition to a wireless communication and machine-to-machine solution company. He is a member of the CSAA, NFPA, and ESA organizations and serves on various committees. Mr. Milliron has an EET degree from Lincoln Technical Institute and has attended The College of NJ and Drexel University.
Brian Rockett, Senior Director of Business Development for AES-Security
Brian Rockett leads the AES Security Products business unit along with new business and product development for the Federal markets. He brings a deep technical background, and has over 30 years of direct experience in the security, life safety and electronics manufacturing industries. Brian works directly with customers, engineers and architects to develop ruggedized products for security and communications applications. He is responsible for the development of many products that are now standard for securing US Federal facilities overseas. Brian holds a Bachelors degree from the Eisenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Nazare Monsini, Director of Manufacturing
Naz Monsini is the Director of Manufacturing for AES Corporation, responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations and directing production processes. She has played a vital role in the organization for several years leading production and purchasing departments, acting as a primary contact for customers and suppliers. Monsini has over fifteen years of prior experience in the security, semiconductor, and consumer electronic industries familiar with general assembly and line operations. Ms. Monsini is multilingual and holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from UMass Lowell.
